If the South Yarra LuxBite was anything to go by, I attended the opening of T by LuxBite with huge expectations. I dreamt of macaroons, tarts and edible silver the night before; and arrived very unfashionably early because I was so excited to see what owners Bernard Chu and Yen Yee had in store for the newest addition to the LuxBite family.
Focusing on a new range of tarts that boasts evident skills in French pastry making with a flavor fusion twist, T by LuxBite doesn’t serve brunch, coffee or savoury. T by LuxBite follows a similar approach to their Toorak Rd store.
T by LuxBite is intended for a one stop shop for sweets galore with new tarts, their famous rainbow macaroons and more. The tarts were made of delicate pastry shells topped with the freshest berries, edible silver and icing sugar. It’s very safe to say I couldn’t stop at one.
The piece de resistance for this Modern Con was the Picnic Tart. As soon as we locked eyes across the room, we knew we were destined for each other. The love story begins with a chocolate base, custard, peanut brittle, milk chocolate, rice crisp balls topped with chewy peanut butter caramel. Need I say more?
If you are in the CBD and are craving something sweet, I highly advise you make the right decision and visit T by LuxBite. If you want to go above and beyond, go and pick up a box of sweets for your friends or co-workers. They’ll owe you big time!
