Whether it’s the smell of the Spanish meat skewers of Movida, the fresh taste of the delicious charred grilled corn from Mamasita or the refreshing beverages from a variety of brewers and distillers; it’s time to prime the taste buds and embrace the sunshine as Taste of Melbourne kicks off once again.
This year Taste of Melbourne, in partnership with Electrolux, brings exciting new attractions to the already strong line-up of restaurants stalls and master classes. High profile chef Andrew McConnell will be showcasing two of his restaurants, the tremendous Supernormal (1 Chef’s Hat) and modern European bar and bistro, Luxembourg. Offering an East meets West flavour, these new additions offer patrons a chance tantalise their tastebuds.
The Grampians meets the city with The Royal Mail Hotel (2 Chef’s Hat) and chef Robin Wickens make there first appearance at Taste of Melbourne. Bringing his delicious take on fresh, regional food, The Royal Mail Hotel is set to demonstrate what regional Victoria can bring to the table.
Also headlining this year is Pastuso, a newly established restaurant where Peruvian native Alejandro Saravia offers the flavours from the mountain, jungle and the sea. Then there is San Telmo providing an Argentine spin and Pei Modern (1 Chef’s Hat) offering relax yet fresh spin on French cuisine.
With a wide range of master classes for the food nerd – chefs include Andrew McConnell, Mark Best, Robin Wickens, Ashly Hicks, Chris Watson, Andrew Logan, Alejandro Saravia, Chris Moran and Frank Camorra – and plenty of opportunity to taste the best in beer, wine and spirit; Taste of Melbourne is more than just food, drinks or teaching, it’s a lasting experience that’s best spent with friends.
