With the fear of sounding like ‘one-of-those‘ Melbournians whose fascination for weather is an endless conversation; but man did we really get all the seasons this week. From hot to cold and everything in-between, it was harder to coordinate a wardrobe then let alone thinking about weekend plans. Lucky for you we have curated the best part of the weekend ahead.

What to Drink? The Bar That Jack Built On Tour

To celebrate the birthday of the big Jack Daniel, Jack is throwing a birthday party in the heart of the CBD – Federation Square. This pop-up (exclusively this Friday only) is special, being the world’s first crowd-sourced bar built on tour. The Bar That Jack Built On Tour which has finally made its way to Melbourne has been built by fans for fans. Open to the public from 5:30pm, there will be plenty of drink offers and food trucks to not only celebrate Jack’s birthday but the start of the weekend.

Expect: Jack Daniel cocktails and other assorted beverages with a number of food trucks


What to eat? Touchwood or Mammoth

The always punctual Broadsheet has revealed to the brunch lovers of Melbourne of the latest cafe to open its doors in spring – Mammoth. Located in the leafy suburb of Armadale, Mammoth is the collaboration of a few big names including Pillar of SaltTouchwood, Barry and their head chef had a long stint at Hammer & Tong. Armadale is set for some strong brunch competition. One option would be to race over to Mammoth and battle in getting a seat to be one of the first to experience the latest offers. Alternatively, you could revisit were the magic of this duo had first exploded onto the brunch scene – Touchwood. Either way, brunch on a weekend will also be #winning.

What to see? Acland St Projection Festival

There is only a few more days left until Acland St Projection Festival wraps up for 2015. Since last Friday, Acland Street in St Kilda has been illuminated with a variety of projections screen onto various buildings, lane ways and streetscapes. Focusing on local talent and exposing the unique shapes of Acland Street, the Acland St Projection Festival invites visitors and locals to explore the appreciate art and St Kilda.

Location: Acland Street, St Kilda, along with side streets including Nelson, Belford and Monarch Lane.
Expect: plenty of lights and moving art
Don’t forget that on  Saturday  at 10:30am is the Teckelrennen 2015 – the Inaugural Dachshund Race. Held in Southbank and apart of the Hophaus’s ‘Hoptoberfest’ celebration, Dachshund will be racing in little costumes. See you track-side.

What to drink? Arbory Bar & Eatery

Sunday equals sun, well according to the weather man’s forecast. To capitalise on the warmer climate (until the sun hides in the clouds again) we suggest heading down to one of the best riversides bars – Arbory Bar & Eatery. With a terrific section of food, beverages across the Yarra – it’s the perfect venue to stay a while when the sun is beaming.
