8-24 December: Royal Croquet Club, Birrarung Marr, Melbourne

The RCC rolls in once again, with food from Gelato Messina, Hoy Pinoy,  8 Bit Burgers, Little Nom Nom’s and Up In Smoke. This year the RCC also has a line up of musicians providing evening entertainment, including The Aston Shuffle, KLP amongst others (tickets must be purchased for performances).

14 November – 24 December Santa’s Christmas Spectacular, Wonderland Under The Melbourne Star, 101 Waterfront Way, Docklands

Wonderland Fun Park transforms into Santa’s Magical Wonderland where snow falls daily! It’s a Christmas Spectacular for the whole family with Christmas treats, the one and only Talking Tree and Santa’s Mailbox ready to post all of your special letters. You better not pout! Keep your eyes peeled for Santa and his friends who will be making special appearances throughout the day.

Santa’s Christmas Circus Spectacular Show will be running LIVE daily in the Wonderland Spiegeltent theatre. Watch the crazy acrobatic Elves get themselves into all sorts of mischief in Santa’s magical Toy Workshop. Plus the beautiful Sugar Plum Snow Fairy will delight with stunning dances high in the air above the audience. An amazing show with big tricks, stupendous stunts and sparkling action for all ages (45min running time).

Following a hugely popular season last summer, QV Melbourne’s Outdoor Cinema has returned with another program full of Melbourne’s favourite things: live entertainment, free cocktails, special food, red carpets, instafamous dogs, charity screenings, a film festival and more.

Melbourne’s CBD’s only silent cinema is located on the open air Astroturf square in the heart of the precinct. One of the city’s most affordable outdoor cinemas, QV Outdoor Cinema’s $12 ticket includes deckchair seating and high quality headphones for every audience member.

7 December – end of Summer, from 6pm every Wednesday – Friday: Pope Joan’s Summer Camp Cookouts with Mr Wilkinson, Pope Joan

Owner, chef and cookbook writer Matt Wilkinson will cook up a storm under the stars in Pope Joan’s enviable courtyard and garden, armed with a fire pit, an open BBQ and an ever-changing menu. He’ll be doing what he does (and loves) best: cooking the freshest, local produce, over the coals, with a tipple in hand.

The food and booze will change constantly. An updated menu will be posted online at every Monday, showcasing the shenanigans for the week to come.

As South Melbourne Markets celebrates 150 years in 2017, a must-do on Melbourne’s summer events calendar, South Melbourne Market’s Night Market is now in its ninth year and attracts an enthusiastic community of locals, along with visitors from Melbourne and beyond.
